IN THIS ISSUE
The Colourist is a unique Bookazine (editorial like a magazine, no advertisements like a book) dedicated to Annie Sloan's passion for color. It is a collectable, bi-annual publication featuring 132 carefully curated pages bound in a covetable cover.
In Issue 1, Annie focused on a Chalk Paint® palette of Antibes Green, Antoinette and Scandinavian Pink. The issue also includes a free Tile stencil designed by Annie Sloan.
Issue 2 of The Colourist embraces the joy of yellow! This edition of Annie Sloan’s hugely popular Bookazine includes before and after projects, Art & Design icons, an exclusive tour of Annie's French farmhouse, travel inspiration from Berlin to Brazil and of course, clever paint techniques with step-by-steps. Packed with stunning photography, painted furniture, and history of Art – The Colourist is much more than a lifestyle magazine, and will provide hours of amusement (and beyond!) to Chalk Paint ® fans old and new.
Issue 3 of The Colourist focuses on blues! Blues are always recessive; meaning they make a space feel bigger by drawing the eye. Other than that, blues can be wildly varied! Cool and icy, warm and sunny, dark and atmospheric, or bright and vibrant, you’ll find inspiring examples of beautiful blues reflecting each of these diverse qualities inside this edition of The Colourist.
You can explore Rachael Jackson’s colorful rental home and Adam Calkin’s eccentric English abode; follow Annie through the streets of Morocco; tour Brooklyn with Chalk Paint ® Stockist and Big Apple Native Andrea Romeo; discover the healing powers of creative projects; and learn the best way to use the exclusive free Art Deco style stencils included with every copy of the Bookazine. All of this and more in 132 jam packed paged of deliciously curated style and passion, courtesy of creative gurus the world over!
Issue 4 of The Colourist celebrates the 30th anniversary of Chalk Paint ® by Annie Sloan. Focusing on a neutral palette of Old White and Graphite with a splash of Lem Lem, this edition also features Pearlescent Glaze, a special, brand new, celebratory product for 2020!
In these glossy pages you’ll find an antiques feast in Round Top, Texas; home tours courtesy of the brilliantly eclectic Ildiko Horvath; the amazing space-saving hulls of Trudy Ooyman’s Dutch barge; and the treasure trove of artistry which is Farleys House. Not to mention this season’s must-have Toile patterns and how to use them, as well as a free pull out of Annie’s specially designed Oxford Toile; the career-changing women who took their creative license-to-kill-business seriously later in life - and how it paid off; the best ways to use whites in your home and with what color. Last but not least, the beloved step-by-step pages at the back, guaranteed to inspire painters the world over.
In Issue 5 we focus on heat and spice; the theme centers on a joyful Chalk Paint ® palette of Barcelona Orange, Emperor’s Silk and Antoinette and features exclusive photography from Annie’s trip to India in January 2020. Also featured are “30 Top Tips For 30 Years of Chalk Paint®”, creative lockdown projects by you, home tours and how-tos, career-changing women and the resurgence of chintz. Discover how furniture artists have been inspired by vintage color theory diagrams, and travel the world of color – literally and figuratively, from the spice markets of India to the Swedish Archipelagos.
This issue also features a vintage-style Cavallini-inspired color chart poster, designed by Felix Sloan.
