HOW TO APPLY
To achieve Annie’s signature look, apply a thin coat of wax over your painted surface with a small Chalk Paint ® Wax Brush. Work in small areas at a time, wiping off any excess with a clean cloth (be sure it is lint-free!). For a distressed look, sand back to reveal a little of the wood or paint underneath before applying a second coat of wax.
First apply a thin base of Clear Wax, removing any excess with a clean cloth. Next, apply the black wax, pushing it into the paintwork to bring out brush marks and crevices. Wipe back any excess with clear wax, making sure every part of your piece has been waxed at least once.

Chalk Paint ® Wax is not suitable for outdoor use. Use Chalk Paint ® Lacquer outdoors.
After care: wipe clean with a damp cloth. For tough marks, use a proprietary spray cleaner and re-wax where necessary. Avoid cleaners with emulsifiers.

Gilding Wax by Annie Sloan
Add a metallic touch to your painted furniture with Annie Sloan Gilding Wax. Apply to ornate carvings and mouldings to enhance texture and detailing, or use with your favourite Annie Sloan Stencil to create gilded shapes, lines and designs. Can be applied with a lint-free cloth or a brush.
Available in 15ml tubes in five colours: Warm Gold, Bright Gold, Bright Silver, Dark Silver and Copper.
Gilding waxes are easy and fun to use. They add a little sparkle to any project, humble or grand. You can use a small brush to control the detail of application, although some prefer to use their finger to apply the waxes. There is something about the way your brush or finger can just glide across the surface of a bead or relief that looks natural and authentic. Gilding waxes are the closest thing to the look of real gold leaf, but are infinitely easier to apply.
Use it as a Glaze:By dipping a small brush 1” or 2” brush into mineral spirits wiping the excess on a paper towel, then dipping into the wax you can create a beautiful metallic glaze for your entire piece.
Create a New Color: Mixing the gilding waxes together allows you a larger range of colors in which to make your piece unique.
Clean Up: Like all wax the gilding waxes clean up with mineral spirits, lye soap, or some other grease cutting medium. If you get a bit in an unwanted spot, simply saturate a cotton swab with a dab of mineral spirits and wipe the area clean.
